Our newest student arrived yesterday. Thenduh is 17 years old. Her parents are Burmese that still live in Burma, and she had been living with an older Burmese lady that goes to our church, while attending school. She speaks fluent Thai and Burmese….which happens to be a slight problem since we are learning Karen and of course we speak English. But, we found out real fast that our little Meme speaks Burmese, and she was tickled pink that she can interpret for us! Pearl knows Burmese also, and so now she must interpret everything into two languages instead of one. We are praying that Thenduh will be a good student and learn English really fast.
Thenduh plans to be a teacher, and came to our school to learn to read Burmese and English, and to study the bible. Now, our family officially numbers 10.
Now, about that floor. We have a floor on the kitchen! That is right, at long last we were able to get the whole thing done. It is really beautiful, and smooth and nice. No, we did not get our miracle team of people to come for a day, but we did work like mad and got it all done anyway! I should have taken a picture for you, but I was so worn out when it was done that I forgot all about it. So, I will try to remember soon so that you can see that spectacular floor. Sometimes, God does not give us what we think that we need, but He gives us the strength to do it another way.
Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving. Think os you often and your cute little stories are enjoyable to read. Many times your choice of wording sounds alot like your Mama. I talked with her the other day. Sounds like she has a rough road anead of her with the back surgery. I love your Mama and Daddy. They are great friends. We are looking forward to someday living next door to each other in heaven. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing and I know you will have many stars in your crown. May God bless you and keep you safe. Love Joyce
