Thank You For Your Prayers

This morning, while I was working away on my Karen spelling lesson, Andrew happily announced that Jason was walking down the hill towards the house! He got out of the hospital yesterday, took the overnight bus to get home, and then walked from the bus stop to the house to surprise us. The final diagnosis was dengue fever, and severe staff infections. I am praising the Lord that he did not have sepsis like they thought! He is looking rather skinny, but other than that, he looks great. With the good food, and “clean” living conditions that we have here, he should be back to normal really fast.

Hannah was THRILLED to see Jason again. In fact, for the first time ever, when she saw me come out of the bedroom with my computer, she did not ask to go with me. I even went to her and asked if she wanted to go to town, and she shook her head no, while hugging Jason tightly. (Andrew was very relieved since she is hard to keep track of here in the internet place)

This morning, a pastor from Burma came to visit us. He is very nice, and had a lot of wisdom for us. He asked us what our plans are here, and was very enthusiastic about them. When we explained that we don’t have a lot of money and so we are moving forward slowly, he waved it off and told us that God would provide. He told us that in Burma, the pastors are all very poor, they have no transportation and have to walk, but that they are much stronger in their walk with the Lord than the ones here in Thailand. He told us that adversity does have it’s benefits! He invited us to go to Rangoon in a few weeks to visit, and I believe that Roy will take him up on that offer so that we can tell you all about what is happening there. His visit turned out to be a real encouragement to us.

A strange thing happened yesterday. We were just finishing English class in the evening, and someone asked what the date was, we didn’t know, so Kentegee went and looked at her phone. It said that it was June 29….our 24th anniversary! Opps, I guess we just forgot about it! Maybe next year we will remember? Things like dates and stuff can get away from you when you are busy in the mission field. (Happy Fathers Day Dad!….when was it anyway?) Anyone know of a good doctor who can do brain transplants? I would like a newer, better, and faster version!

  1. Praise the Lord for Jason’s recovery. Hello to all of you there, Hi Andrew! Loren says to give you all his best regards. He just got back from Seattle where he spent a few days with his son, Morris, there in Harborview. He will plan on going back this coming Wed or so and spend a little longer. They bring Morris out of sedation a little more and he has responded well to having his dad there. Loren says that he’s been so brave throughout it all. They still have one arm to reconstruct and then I think they have all the surgery done. For now that is. He was stunned at how bruised and broken up Morris is, but what would you expect from having had a huge tree land on your back? Actually, he should expect to be looking at a headstone except that the Lord, for His own reason, has spared Morris’ life. I say that it was to wake up his family to the fact that there IS a God, and that HE loves us more than we can imagine. Please keep Morris in your prayers. He is going to be a LOOOONG time recovering from this, as much as he will. He will be paralyzed from about the waist down so we will have to adjust to a new experience. God bless all of yu too,we really admire your courage and pray that you don’t get discouraged. God go with you.
