Peaceful Sunday

The kids never cease to amaze me! Why? Well, today they all got up and went about their chores quietly and cheerfully, then they all settled down to craft projects. Numpoong was making a basket, Thunduh was making a scarf, Travis, Ahmesow, and Memewah were weaving, and Meme and Pawkuhmooeydee were learning to crochet, while I worked on making wash cloths, Destiny played happily on the mat beside my chair, and Roy drew designs for dorms and houses and such. Hannah flitted from person to person watching the progress, and did not talk loud even once. It was enough to make a mother faint!

We have a little island of peace in the midst of the “storm”. The neighbors just built a Pagoda on the hill behind us, so they are having a seven day and seven night dedication for it. I don’t know anything about dedicating pagodas, but last night after the loud music and movies were over, and things had quieted down, I heard a noise like wind, with voices in it. It was rushing towards the pagoda. It sure was strange! I figured that the demons had arrived or something…but like I said, I don’t know.

What I do know is that I am so thankful for the peace that God gives us each day. When we trust in God to help us, we don’t have to worry and fret about things. We can rest in his love and care and enjoy the incredible blessings that he gives us.
