Once again God has turned my tragedy into a blessing. We have struggled with low finances for months now, but when I really needed something, God pulled it off in just one week! Natalie called last night to tell me that there was a sizable donation to replace my computer. Plus, last Sabbath my brother shared my sad plight with his church family, and they also gave generously. So, as soon as the money arrives, I will be headed to Bangkok to do a bit of shopping.
In other news…remember the 5 kids that I was thinking I might have to take (4 of them were from one family.) Well, Roy and Travis went to visit the mother to find out about the situation, and found out that she is not at all interested in giving away her kids, but she really needs help since her husband ran off and left her. So, around the beginning of November, she and all four kids will be joining our family. The children range in age from 3 months to six years. They are Buddhists, but they have been told that we are Christians, and are willing to abide by Christian rules in order to live with us. We are praying that they will be 5 more souls for the kingdom of God! Ahmesow is excited since 3 of them are boys…which seem to be in short supply around our place. The rest of us are being more practical about things and are planting gardens as fast as we can. 17 people is a lot of people to feed everyday! We believe that God will make a way, where there seems to be no way… (please please please pray for our gardens! So far my every attempt has failed due to the bugs)
Also, we are desperately looking for a teacher for a primitive village school. The requirements are a solid walk with God. Boldness to do what is right in the face of lots of wrong. A decent amount of education, no degrees or stuff like that are necessary. You have to like to hike, know a bit about first aid and natural remedies, have an adventurous spirit, and a love for people. You must be able to live on boring food for long periods of time, and no internet, and hardly any phone service. Dedication is a must! Any takers? Oh…it is a volunteer position, so having a bit of monthly support is also nice. Just send me an email if you are interested.
Praise God! Glad you will be able to get a computer soon.
Praying for you all and the need for a dedicated missionary.
Smiles!
