I stand in awe of God’s almighty power. On Friday morning, I was sitting in bed, talking to my boys, while Hannah was playing beside me, when I heard Hannah’s father come in. He came right over to my curtain doorway, and pulling it right open, looked in on us. He started talking to us in rapid Karen, leaving me wondering what in the world he was saying. Jason had a startled look on his face, and after the father had left, I asked Jason what he said. He told me that he did not know for sure, but he thought that the father had said that he was leaving!
I guess that even when I pray, I am a little slow to believe, so I went most of the day without even checking to see if the father was still around…but he did not come to my house… so finally I asked Kenthegee where the father was. She told me that he had left, and gone to a very distant village, several days walking away. I asked her when he was coming back, and she said, ” maybe a few months, maybe a year”.
I want you to know that every time I wanted to tell that man to leave, the Lord shut my mouth, and I was not able to tell him anything. So, he left on “good” terms with me, and it was none of my doing that he left. I told Kenthegee the story of how I asked you all to pray that this man would leave, and she was really amazed. She also witnessed the power of God, and it opened the way for us to have a really good talk about the power of God, and how he wants to help us in every detail of our lives.
Kenthegee told me a little more of this mans history. He had shared with my two students the fact that he has had 12 wives. He murdered the first one, and quite a few of the others died mysteriously. So, we have a lot more to be thankful for than we realized. God protected us while he was with us, and he also helped this man to leave on good terms with us. God is so good!
Praise God!!!! Your parenting experiences have been helpful to me too. Thank you for sharing.
