As many of you already know, after over 5 years in the mission field, Ben finally got bit by the wrong two mosquitoes! First, he got dengue fever, then a week later, he also got PF malaria. Now, if he had asked me, I could have told him that it would not be a good idea to get both dengue and malaria, but nobody asked me! So, Ben was in the hospital for 5 days and might have enjoyed the rest and attention if he had not been so sick.
He is back in his apartment in Bangkok and still resting up. If you know anything about dengue, he does not have much choice but to rest, since extreme weakness is just a part of the disease…add to that malaria, and I cannot even imagine what he must be going through. He told me today that there was a visitor there the other day that thought that he was drunk when he was trying to get a glass of water. He is so dizzy that it is impossible to walk straight!
The rest of the family is worn out and tired from our ordeal with the school. So, we are staying home and working on creating normalcy for our little ones, and praying about what we should do next. Destiny rewarded our efforts today by walking for the first time. And, if you look at my slide show, you will see a picture of her “reading” books. Her favorite seems to be Messages To Young People!
Keep us in your prayers, since we have some pretty big decisions to make soon. We want so much to follow God in everything.
