Beast from Revelation? (by Andrew)

Tires squealed, and my knuckles turned white as I fought to keep the motorbike under control. In a flash my options passed through my mind, either I could hit the canal or this thing that seemed to be trying it’s best to run me over. I decided that possibly the canal was the better option and so I attempted to guide my motorbike to that side of the road which was closest to it. As I began to steer toward the canal this thing, this beast hit the side of my motorbike. It’s hind leg went under my rear tire, and sent me weaving nearly out of control, but by this time I was able to slow down enough that it took only a few seconds (or was it minutes) to regain control, allowing me the time to glance over my shoulder and see if this “beast” had actually survived the impact. Fortunately for my “beast” it was alright and after standing up went scampering off of the road visibly shaken. Now you might be wondering what kind of scary beasts we have here in Cambodia that could so nearly upset my day, and my teaching schedule for the next week. Well I’m not sure if I dare to say this out loud . . . but it was a COW! No not really a cow because it was too small, it was a calf! Apparently this calf had a “happy” moment just as I was approaching and began running and jumping around and as I got close it ran out into the street, when I came a bit closer it panicked and ran straight for me, which is where my story begins.

God uses some of the craziest things to teach us lessons about life. Sometimes we get really excited about doing what God asks us, and we go running and jumping for joy through life forgetting to watch that we don’t run over those traveling life’s road around us. Let us always remember to think of others and to treat them as though they were Christ Himself.
