I was sleeping soundly, after getting home from my visa run, when I felt something crawling across my arm. I brushed it off, and went back to sleep. But, pretty soon, I felt something bite my arm! Now I was awake. After killing that biting thing, I felt another bite and another! Hannah was laying beside me wriggling. I got to wondering if something were biting her too? So, I found my flashlight, and turned it on. There was Hannah, absolutely covered with little black biting ants. She was trying frantically to brush them off of her, but she was not making any noise at all! (maybe she was too busy) These little black ants are like kamikazes. They crawl on you until they find a particularly bad spot, and then they dive head first in to your skin and bite like they know that it will be the last thing they ever do and they are going to do it really well! Maybe they have “little ant syndrome”? They have to bite really hard so that you will respect them even though they are so small?
Anyway, I went to Hannah’s rescue as fast as I could, but as I started brushing the ants off of her, more and more came! They were just swarming her, and me and the bed, and the floor beside the bed. By this time, Roy was awake too, and he held Hannah while I ran to the kitchen to try to find something that would help us. I found that my wonderful son Travis, had gone and bought a brand new bottle of ant spray, so I ran with my prize possession back to the scene of the attack, and sprayed those ants until little black bodies littered the bed. We thought that our bodies might be littering the bed pretty soon from the fumes, but we managed to survive it, and felt quite triumphant.
You just never know when an attack is going to come, so we must be prepared all the time. Satan is going around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, just like those little ants with the big bite.
